History & Development

History is a time flow, but always has its start point. The good start from the intellect and humanity will promise a bright future and CADI-SUN itself had such a case. The past period of time is a long way of difficulties filled with the hardships and challenges, but with its determination, untiring efforts of non-stop striving of whole leadership, staff, CADI-SUN have all overcome and have gained great achievements.  

 
  • 1990
    1990
    In 1990, the cooperative shifted to produce and trade electric wires and cables with many difficulties at the time of economic transition such as lack of capital investment, production equipments mainly adapted from the old ones, poor and out-of-date infrastructure. In addition, production technology is learned from people in the South and some Chinese experts through learning by doing, experience and personal capacity. However, thanks to the workers’ skillfulness, the co-operative’s electrical wires and cables were still accepted and highly appreciated in the market.

    1999
    In 1999, when Vietnam was in the process of transition from centrally-planned economy with bureaucracy and subsidy mechanism to the market economy. This was a good opportunity for Vietnam enterprises, especially non-state enterprises to develop and Thuong Dinh Company Limited came into being (with trade name of CADI-SUN) with determination, desire to overcome poverty, backwardness to reach the peak of success.

    In 2000, CADI-SUN determined to take its own direction by borrowing bank loans to invest and replace the entire production lines, technology; invest to build Factory No.1 in Ha Noi, with the goal to dominate the market and customers by “new generation” electric cable products of high quality, outstanding features and soon meeting the market demands. Such a breakthrough brought successes for CADI-SUN, and continuously surpassing other businesses to become a new, dynamic brand and shape a scale of powerful development.

    2001-2003
    In 2001-2003, CADI-SUN continued to maintain the stability in production, business operations, gradually penetrate the domestic market, expand the market shares and exploit the potential customers. Also in this year, CADI-SUN was certified with its trademark and certification according to quality management system of ISO 9001-2000 (presently, ISO 9001:2008)

    In 2004, CADI-SUN completed the investment, construction and putting into operation of Factory No. 2 in Hai Duong with a total area of 46,000m2, investment capital of over VND100 billion.
    • Invested in constructing testing Laboratory in accordance with International Standard -  ISO / IEC 17025.
    • Expanded production facilities; further invested in equipment and machinery to enhance production capacity for 02 factories.
    • Diversified products to timely meet the needs of the market and consumers throughout the country.

    2005
    In 2005: CADI-SUN established its branches and opened storehouses in Ho Chi Minh City.
    • Constructed, planned the policies for brand name development and organized many activities to protect the CADI-SUN brand name from any violations.
    • Restructured and strengthened the human resources in professional and effective direction
    • Enhanced the production capacity, launched into the market new products: multifunction electric sockets, magnet wires used for the electronic assembly industry…
     
  • 2006

    In 2006, CADI-SUN established the Branches and opened storehouses in Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Highlands Region (Tay Nguyen) with the target of spreading to all parts of the country. 
    • Set up and adjusted the business strategy in the market follow-up, expanded market share into the Central and Southern regions.
    • Expanded the cooperation relationship with other businesses, overseas organizations, gradually building up and implementing the penetration stages into the global market.

    2007
    Year 2007 was a successful year in all aspects for CADI-SUN. CADI-SUN brand was widely known as a national strong brand. Many large domestic and overseas corporations contacted and expressed their wish to cooperate with CADI-SUN such as Samone Group; Cosmolink Group; Dongyang Group; Sangjin Group ... Also in the same year, CADI-SUN succeeded in its signing the contract of investment cooperation, transfer of technology with Cosmolink Group (South Korea).

    In 2008, Success after success, the company continued to invest in land purchase for the project of producing low-voltage, medium-voltage and high-voltage electric cables in Binh Duong Province; signed the contract of investment cooperation and transfer of technology with Dongyang Group (South Korea) to build the magnetic cable factory with the aim to enhance production, business efficiency, gradually integrate into the international economy.
    Although, in the late months of 2008, the downturn of the world’s finance profoundly affected the global businesses in general, and Vietnam in particular, with the decisive mind of the leadership, efforts and determination of all staff, CADI-SUN still maintained the economic stability and gained a light growth.
    Also in this year, CADI-SUN officially converted from Limited Company into Joint Stock Company and raised its charter capital to VND200 billion.

    2009
    Year 2009, Financial market of Vietnam and the world still met with many difficulties, but CADI-SUN kept on operating and developing its business following the set-out strategy. 
    • Issued the stocks to attract the investment capital for the first time and carried out the Shareholders’ General Meeting.
    • Transferred the operation model of the two factories and set up the member companies:
    • Dai Duong Company, transformed from Factory No.1
    • Bac Dung Company, transformed from Factory No.2

    In 2010, CADI-SUN became a prominent brand when standing in the ranking list of 500 largest private enterprises in Vietnam. This is the 2nd time in consecutively CADI-SUN’s products of electric wire and cable are recognized as the major industrial product of the city of Hanoi. December 2010, all leadership and staff, workers of CADI-SUN received the Third-grade Labour Order – the valuable award from the Government to the businesses who make great achievements in the Country construction and protection cause.

    Year 2011, Vietnam’s economy as well as the World’s have continuously been facing many difficulties. High inflation and interest rates have put a big pressure on production enterprises. Tight monetary policy, reduction in public investment by the Government, plus the increase in input material prices have made the electric wire and cable market decline remarkably. However, with determination to self-affirm its stand, the production, business in 2011 of CADI-SUN has obtained many encouraging results with revenue growth of 8% over the same period, reaching 102% compared with the targeted plan. Bright spot in the economic picture of CADI-SUN of year 2011 was the export activities with revenue growth of 139% compared to year 2010. The company has basically completed 80% of construction project of Truong Duong Industrial Complex with the total cost of VND80 billion; completed the proposed procedures for investing traditional craft village industrial Complex with a Scale of over 35 ha; invested in buying land to build Dak Lak Branch Office; built and put into operation of the branch offices of Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang with a total investment of nearly VND70 billion ...
     
    In year 2011, CADI-SUN continued to surpass 115 ranks, and was ranked the 283rd in the ranking list of 500 largest and fastest developed private enterprises of Vietnam; continued to be trusted, and recognized as Major Industrial Product by the Hanoi People's Committee.
